Inbody 5K Run/Walk Sept 22 to Raise Awareness of Necrotizing Fasciitis
In early March of this year, Tiffany Inbody, director of communications and public relations for the Office of the Vice President For Research and former BVIABC president, contracted a severe bacterial infection called necrotizing fasciitis – often referred to as the “flesh-eating bacteria” disease. Inbody required extensive hospitalization and a long and challenging convalescence.
To raise awareness of this life-threatening disease and help cover the Inbody family’s high medical costs, the Inbody Awareness 5K Run/Walk has been planned for 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, on Texas A&M’s West Campus.
Registration for the event is $25 per person. Donations from participants and non-participants are welcome. In-person registration will run from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. The race will start at 9 a.m. in parking lot PA97. Parking is also available in PA97. Don't wait until the last minute. Visit the event website for a Registration / Donation Form and map. For more information about necrotizing fasciitis, visit the National Necrotizing Fasciitis Foundation website. Forms may be returned in person to Cathy Netterville at 312 Administration Building (third floor) or mailed to: P.O. Box 5692, Bryan, Texas 77805.
